Administration and Faculty


Let us introduce you to our experienced and dedicated administrative and teaching staff.


Earned her B.A. in German from Temple University and an M.B.A. degree from Drexel University. President of the Concordia Trust, a charitable foundation that focuses on German language education and scholarship. AATG member. Director of a training consulting firm. Started with Immanuel in 1975.

Education training received from Temple University. Taught German at the Immanuel Lutheran School in Burholme for 25 years. Co-author of Jump Into German textbook. AATG member. Former board Member of the German Language School Conference. Beginning her 34th year with Immanuel.

Earned his M.A in Educational Administration and his B.A. degree in German, French & Management from St. Joseph’s University. Studied at the Philipps-Universität in Marburg.  AATG Member. German and French teacher at Washington Township High School. Starting his 11th year at Immanuel.

Certified teacher of Biology in Germany. Experienced Kindergarten teacher and a native speaker of German. A member of the Immanuel faculty since 1991.

Earned her M.A. in Germanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Bucharest, Romania with a double major in German and English. She has degrees in German philology and pedagogy and over 20 years experience in teaching German literature, Deutsch als Muttersprache and foreign languages.  Currently a senior editor at Thomson Scientific.  Joined Immanuel in 2004.

She earned a B.A. degree in German from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree in Education. A board certified German teacher who is currently teaching at Egg Harbor Township High School. Attended the Center of German ad European Studies Wittenberg Language Academy. Has been teaching at Immanuel since 1996.

Received his M.A. degree in Modern German Culture from Indiana University. Currently pursuing an M.A. in Education with secondary certification in German from LaSalle University. He teaches German at William Tennent High School and Richboro Middle School. Formerly an Associate Instructor of German at Indiana University Bloomington. He begins his 3rd year at Immanuel.

Earned her B.A. degree from Villanova University. Studied German for many years at the St. Henry German School. A member of Board of Directors of the United German Hungarian Club. Currently works as a service coordinator at Penn-Jersey Volvo in Philadelphia, Started teaching at Immanuel in 2001.

Studied German at Archbishop Wood High School and was inducted into the German National Honor Society. He is employed by a HVAC contractor. Tim joined Immanuel in 2004.

Earned her Master and Ph.D. degrees in biology from the University of Vienna and is a certified middle and high school level biology teacher in Austria. While employed at Merck Research Laboratories as a visiting scientist, she focused on teaching and training her colleagues in microscopy.  Eva brings her 2nd year at Immanuel.

Graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in International Affairs and a minor in German literature.  He is the founder and CEO of Netwerk Philadelphia: the German Network of Philadelphia.  He provides private German language instruction and was the former executive director of the German Society of Pennsylvania.

Completed his B.A. in German & M.A. in Education. Recently retired German teacher from Pennsbury High School with 36 years of teaching experience. Participated in the Fulbright Exchange Program (1989-1990). Co-author of the German Curriculum for the School District of Philadelphia. AATG member. Ed has been an Immanuel faculty member since 1980.

Ms. Merrigan was educated in Germany as a tax accountant and is a native speaker of German.  She begins her third year at Immanuel.

Sabine currently teaches German within the FLEX program at Bucks County Community College.  She is originally from Germany and started with Immanuel in January 2008.

Certified Kindergarten teacher in Germany. Co-author of Jump Into German. AATG member. She participates in the Lower Moreland Enrichment Program teaching a German class. Has taught at Immanuel for the past 34 years.

Earned a Master’s degree in Education from Temple University. She attended the St. Henry’s German School for many years. She is currently the Assistant Director of Student Financial Services at Temple. Liz begins her fourth year at Immanuel.

Earned her B.A. in German and Political Science from Rutgers University and her Master’s degree in Education from LaSalle University. She teaches German in the Lower Moreland Township School District. Margaret has been teaching at Immanuel since the second semester of 2004.

Received his degree in Applied Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University where he also worked as a teaching assistant. He is pursuing a career in education. Stefan is a native of Stuttgart.  He begins his second year at Immanuel.
