Classroom News

    Students, parents, and adult students were invited to remain after school on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from noon-1 p.m. to learn more about the student production of the Immanuel German School morning video show, "Der Bienenstich".  A number of students, parents, and teachers participated in this enrichment activity.  They enjoyed refreshments while viewing ten short creative episodes approximately three minutes in length each. 

    The educational objectives of the video show align with the five C's of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages:  

        Communication:   Communciate in language other than English

        Cultures:  Gain knowledge and understanding of other cultures

        Connections:   Connect with other disciplines and acquire information

        Comparisons:   Develop insight into the nature of language and culture

        Communities:   Participate in multilingual communities at home and around the world

    It is an ongoing project that is actively engaging the students and motivating them to speak German.
