Steiff Bears Educate Kids on German Culture

When one thinks of Steiff bears, images of Germany come to mind. On May 2, teachers at the Immanuel German School in Philadelphia , Pa. , used this link to help students gain a better understanding of German people, culture, and language. By incorporating the Steiff bear in the suitcase into the learning objectives, pre-K through 12th-grade students created unique projects that provided insight into the German culture and heritage.

Projects included videos, posters, magazines, dioramas, and more. Steiff North America provided students with complimentary pins, posters, and medallions to help recognize the 100th anniversary of the passing of its founder Margarete Steiff.

The Steiff bear in a suitcase actively engaged all the students in a magical trip to many destinations in Germany. Who would have thought that something so small could bring something so big: the passing of knowledge to the next generation. By Tammy Sergeyev
